Agri-food of the Future: AI, Sustainable Agriculture and Research Innovation

In December 2020, OBVIA, in collaboration with the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ), Forum IA Québec and IVADO, launched a series of awareness-raising workshops aimed at highlighting the challenges and opportunities related to the valorization of data and the application of AI in the biofood sector. Subsequently, consensus-building workshops allowed for a collective multi-stakeholder reflection on the potential of digital data, the obstacles to its use, and the needs of biofood sector stakeholders. This work led to the drafting of a white paper presenting the issues and courses of action for the sector.

This process will be one of the research initiatives related to the biofood sector that will be presented at an event organized by the Chief Scientist of Quebec, Rémi Quirion, and the Fonds de recherche du Québec. You will also be able to discover the Quebec Network for Sustainable Agriculture Research, created by the FRQNT in collaboration with the MAPAQ, as well as research projects selected in the IMPULSION call for projects – Agriculture component.

The white paper will be available on November 4 to those registered at the event.
