Report on the Digital Practices of Professionals in Quebec
On behalf of the Conseil interprofessionnel du Québec (CIQ), OBVIA and CIRANO conducted a study with the following objectives
- draw up an inventory of digital use among Quebec professional
- to highlight the challenges of the digital shift on their activities
- identify the needs of professionals in this changing context
The report “Les pratiques numériques des professionnels au Québec – État des lieux et pistes de réflexion pour accompagner le virage numérique” (Digital Practices of Professionals in Quebec – A Status Report and Avenues of Reflection to Accompany the Digital Shift) highlights the fact that while the use of digital technologies is widespread among all Quebec professionals, skills and knowledge are not assessed by sector of activity, by order, or even at the level of a profession, but rather at the level of the individual professional or the organization in which he or she practices.
Quebec has 55 regulated professions organized into 46 professional orders and supervised by the professional system whose fundamental mission is the protection of the public.
